On my way home I always meet The Cat. He has no leg. Hes
ginger and lies stretched on the footpath. He needs to be
caressed its obvious to everyone. Sometimes theres
even a queue to pet him. Yesterday he was sitting there and
sadly looking at the door. As it was cold, I rang the doorbell.
The door opened to reveal a tired unshaven man.
"Hes not from here. He lives around the
corner", the man stated in an automatic manner.
I had to say something.
"He was staring at this door so intently
"
"Where are you from?", asked the unkept man
"Russia."
And he told me the story of The Cat. The story is already
some three years old. For all this time this door attracts
The Cat, and compassionate passers-by ring the doorbell each
half an hour. The door was painted a different colour
it did not help. Then they hung a notice on the door stating
The Cat is not from here. Yet it looked silly,
so they changed it for another: Do not ring the doorbell
in case you see The Cat looking at the door. Scottish
people have an amazing sense of humor, and so it started.
Notes such as Havent seen The Cat, decided not
to ring and The Cat was not looking at the door
today, and so on were left atthe door. Later because
of the positivism of the Door and The Cat those who
fancy a bit of dope started to gather here. They caressed
The Cat and wondered what attracts it to this door. For Christmas
they would dress up like the cat and ring the door asking
Dont you have a room for rent?. The police
suggested that The Cat be put to sleep... it was taken away...
New notes then began to appear at the door: Were
glad The Cat found a flat
And wheres
The Doorlooking Cat?. The man gave in. The Cat returned.
I caress him on my way to the theatre. I watch the door. Very
attractive.
We often see AKHE
guys, drink tea together. We recall old projects both
movies and actions
Lots of things were done together,
so it appears. And we decided to mark the old friendship with
a huge project in Edinburgh in 2004. To flood the city with
pictures, videos, movies, shows, books and photo exhibitions
and two new productions with the preliminary names of "The
Game" and "The Jew" which we plan to produce
together.
