Anton Adassinski, director of the Russian dance and performance group
Derevo, describes their latest production Redzone.
Derevo: an exciting and
unpredictable mix of incongrous theatre styles. Inspired by Butoh, and
revivers of Comedia d'ell Arte, Derevo works in the fields of clownery,
modern dance, pagan rites, and music ranging from Russian avantgarde
to famous rock songs. The 'alarmingly anarchistic' and 'deeply melancholy'
Red Zone will be combining "the magic of dance with a touch of
pagan rites".
